American Idol Finale 2009

As you might have heard earlier in 2008, I am not watching Fox's top hit show American Idol this year. I couldn't help catching up in things, see who was left, and watching the finale, though. It's down to Kris Allen and Adam Lambert. Now, everyone says that Adam is totally going to win. I've heard people say, 'He rocks! He's awesome!' and 'Kris is such a wimp. He shouldn't win.'. Everyone says it's so obvious that Adam is going to win. Here's a shocker for you: I was rooting for Kris Allen. There. I said it. I don't have anything against Adam, I mean, he's a great singer, but I like Kris's style better. Adam doesn't really.. well.. he should start his own band if he doesn't win American Idol- well, actually, he should start a band period. He's the rock type. I like the Kris type. He's a nice singer, and that's what the competition is about. I've heard Simon Cowell say that the competition is for singing too many times. When people get all dressed up and they have way too much mascara on it looks like they used the whole bottle, when people start dancing in the middle of their performance, when people try to play the guitar and sing at the same time and end up doing a better job on the guitar then on their singing. Here's a tip for all you people who's dream it is to win American Idol: Focus on the singing. It's all that matters.

Wednesday, May 2oth, 8:00 PM. The Finale begins.

Well, well, well. Will you look at Randy? He's got this red bow tie and everything! Simon is wearing is usual black t-shirt with black pants. No surprise there. I cracked up SO hard when Ryan Seacrest introduced the judges- the video where it showed Randy saying 'For me, for you' Over and over again. He does say that too much. 'For me, that song just wasn't the right one for you.' Would be an example. Kara, the new judge, was also hilarious. They showed how much she says, 'sweetie' and 'honey' too much. 'Sweetie you're just not good enough.' 'Honey, I'm sorry. You didn't make it in. Paula, though, is kind of another thing. She doesn't say a certain word too much, like Randy and Kara, she has serious vocab. Simon even said we needed a translator on the show! The video for paula was so funny. Small little clips of very large amazing words that I haven't even heard of. Simon- as Ryan says, hears every note and every sound of the song. The video showed clips of Simon Cowell saying, 'What? I'm sorry, what'd ya say?' That was my favorite out of all the judges. Yeah, Simon can be a real pain when it comes to judging a song, but he stands out.

Well that was nice to see the top 13 again, singing So What. The top 13 that I never knew because I didn't watch the show this year. Hah! Yet I'm still blogging away.

At least I watched season 7 last year. Where David Cook rocked the house! At the finale, he did it again. Time for me to be the judge. My opinion: It could've been a better song, but it was phenomanal, but a little to calm song for David. He's really good at those rock songs where you sing your heart out, like Dirty Little Secret. (One of my favorite songs.) I heard that David Cook's brother died about a week ago, because of brain cancer. We need to find a cure.

Here we go- the outstanding male awards. They didn't make it all that far... at all.. but he still won something. Congratulations, Nick Mitchel! (AKA Norman Gentle) You crazy male singer. But Simon is right! It IS like horrific comedy!

Ok, who doesn't love the song, I'm Yours? Seriously. I love it. The ukulele really makes a nice touch in the song, but I don't think there was one at the finale. Aww.. but go Jason Mraz!

Next up on our text-finale show, we have Kris Allen preforming Kiss A Girl with Keith Urban. I believe Keith is a famous country-western artist. How about that. This was one of my favorite parts of the show- because, like I said earlier, I'm rooting for Kris. He has that nice feeling in his voice, not to loud like a rock band singer's voice, but not to quiet like a shy guy.

GLAMOROUS. By Fergie. Another awesome song- that I actually haven't heard in months, actually. So when I was watching it, I was all, 'Oh my gosh I know this song! What's it called?? Aaahh!!' It's pretty obvious, though, what it's called. They spell it out for you in the begining of the song. GLAMOROUS. Now there's a way to remember how to spell that word! Hah. But what I didn't like was that they changed songs from GLAMOROUS to Big Girls Don't Cry the moment Fergie appeared on the stage in the middle of GLAMOROUS. (Count how many times I say GLAMOROUS in this paragraph!!) I hate the song Big Girls Don't Cry. Partly because it's all country style, kind of. It's just too.. too slow.. weird.. not my type. It's funny because it's from the same person- yet I hate it. Another 30 or so secconds into THAT song, and all of a sudden, the Black Eyed Peas (whoever those dudes are, I have no idea) started performing. What's up with that? Hardly a minute per song. Right in the middle of the songs, someone would shout, 'Ladies and Gentlemen, insert band name here !!!

Back to our golden Idol awards. Next up: Best Attitude. So, we have 'Bikini Girl', one that took everything as compliments, and a few others. Especially that blond one who said she's never gonna give up and says that she's totally gonna win and she doesn't care what they all think. There's the attitude! I thought she should have won.. but
Bikini Girl one instead. Uh, a little odd... seeing a girl with hardly anything on her.. but I have to give it to her that she's not that bad of a singer. I wonder what that must feel like to be known as 'Bikini Girl'. Finally Kara steps on stage to perform with Katrina! Go KA's! (You know, KAtrina and KAra?)

I know this has nothing to do with what happened in the finale, but imagine if Cook won again!! It's like everyone on the votes voted for David Cook.. because maybe they loved him more than Adam and Kris.. that would be HILARIOUS!

Here's the funniest part of the entire finale. So Adam Lambert is performing Beth by KISS- a rock band from the 70's. My dad and the rest of my family was watching it, and he said, 'It would be so epic if KISS appeared on the show!!' and the second after he said that, what do you know. Here comes KISS, make up and everything coming down on stage. Then they had to change the song to one of my favorite songs, Rock And Roll All Night. (I have a lot of favorite songs. It's hard to pick one, you know?) That long-tongued guy- you should have seen my dad cracking up. It's so funny when he does. He's like falling back on the couch laughing hysterically and snorting in between. Yeah, that's my dad. Erik J. Heels. That went on for about a minute. Wow. That must be a record. At the end of KISS's performance, one of the dude's tried to smash his guitar on the stage. Success came, but fail at the same time because he just damaged his own guitar for no reason- other than entertainment to keep my dad laughing.

Wednesday, May 2oth, 9:30 PM. The winner is announced soon.

You know that song called Smooth? NO? I'm not surprised. It's by Carlos Santana, and I actually really like that song. It's calm, relaxing, and what do you know, smooth, too. It's one of those songs that would be good music for a coffee shop. Social music, I call it.

David Cook appears! AGAIN! To give the two finalists brand new, shiny, ooh la la, pretty, cars.

Here's the last of the golden Idol Awards. This time: Outstanding Female. Way to not listen to Ryan Seacrest, Tatiana! That was incredibly outstanding. (Instead of so funny)'Tatiana I'm not kidding, we need to go to a break!' He kept saying, but of course, Tatiana wasn't listening. Just singing. :-)

Who here is a fan of Queen? ME! I love We Are The Champions. I love a lot of songs, in case you haven't noticed yet. Adam and Kris perform We Are the Champions- and of course, when someone performs it, the band appears. So, as we follow the drill, Queen appears.

Wednesday, May 20th, 10:00 PM. The moment we've all been waiting for.

'Dim the lights one last time!' Says Ryan, making everyone excited, and nervous. It's the moment of truth. The moment where the American Idol 2009 will be announced, the moment were everyone is dying to know who it is. No pressure on Kris and Adam. And the American Idol...(girls scream in the background) Season 8, 2009, (even more girls are screaming in the background) is....(this time everyone is silent).....KRIS ALLEN!! Seriously, did you see the look on his face? He was all, 'REALLY?' Like he was possitive Adam was going to win. Just like how everyone thought it would end. With Adam winning. But NO. Kris still had a chance. He had the chance to win, and he did. For some strange reason, he looked like he didn't want to win, like he wanted Adam to win the whole time. Believe it, Kris. You are the American Idol of 2009.
