The Joy Of Needle Crafts

Knitting, crocheting, and sewing all are something I just love to do. It takes a very long time for me to get going on the project, and for it to be almost done, because I have a very busy schedule. That includes swimming for an hour on Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday nights, and a bunch of other sport-related activities, witch leaves me little chunks of time in the week, except for weekends. I usually don't knit on weekends. I write on my website on weekends!! But yeah.. I should split that a little more evenly so you people get more to read..

Right now I just finished a 20-stitch wide scarf for my dad. I'm using red yarn, because red is his favorite color, and the yarn is very fluffy and cozy for extra warmth guaranteed. It used to be like 40 stitches wide, but that didn't work out too well, as you might have imagined. I've made previous projects, witch of only one one of them are actually completed. (Other than my just-finished red scarf) That one is a white wool scarf, about 15 stitches wide. The one that is not finished but is VERY close to being finished is a hat. I'm using those needles that are connected by a cord at the ends so it makes a tube kind of thing- I'm in the decreasing stage, so it's actually a hat. Yarn? Nothing quite fancy, but it is multicolored. It has mixtures of light pink, magenta, brown, and tan.

I'm not working on anything in crochet land right now, mainly because I've got a lot of projects on my hands with knitting. My mom asked for a blue scarf. Sam, my brother, is in the AB high school marching band- so she said she was going to wear that scarf whenever she watches my brother. I haven't even started that one yet!! As soon as I finish the red one for my dad, I should start working on it right away! Thank god it doesn't have a due date. The red one for my dad does- Christmas time. I do have completed crochet projects, though. I made myself a green headband- somehow, I forget how. I've made myself a cute little pink purse to hold my gum in- it's PERFECT size! And I made another cute little pink purse to give as a gift.

Oh how I love to choose yarn! The colorful, pretty yarn. Tons of options, tons of projects await.

You see that whitish scarf up top? You see how on the sides it gets all narrow and all of a sudden its really wide? Yeah.. that was my first knitting project. It's not very long because I ran out of yarn, but I do wear it sometimes... with the large knot facing the inside, of course. That thing is like a large puff ball. I don't think you can see it in the picture, but you can see how I used really thick yarn, right? Imagine that in a knot, and really fluffed up. There's my obnoxious knot.

My dad, Erik J. Heels, is gonna love it his new red scarf. You can see it above. I even tested it! And it is very comfy-umfy. I'm thinking about making a matching hat.. since his brown red sox one seems to be getting a little small for his unusually large head. Keep an eye out for my new hat, coming soon!

large heads must be a curse of the family... I know that our side of the family have ginormous noggans! I love the scarf and I can't wait to see the hat you're working on. I'm currently making mitten for myself... maybe I'll teach you some time! xoxo
